Here we have a trade paperback copy of Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus, by Mary Wollestonecraft Shelley. Originally published in 1818, this story is considered by many to be the first true science fiction novel. This edition, the Pennyroyal Edition, was designed and illustrated by Barry Moser, and features numerous woodcut illustrations by Moser. This 254 page book includes all three volumes of the original novel, as well as an afterword by Joyce Carol Oates. It is in excellent condition. The only notable flaw is a small crease which wraps the spine. There is also some surface wear on the covers, and a few pages had very small dog-ears which have been straightened.
