This book brings back my personal memories of two friends’ families one from Croatia but his family settled in U.S. and one who still lives in Bosnia . Their families were on opposing sides during the Balkans War. Both were very young during the war but both conveyed how devastating war is; how it affects mental health of those who have lived through it which in turn has affected their children lives. One was a student at a university I worked for and the other was a friend of my daughter when she was in Bosnia on a Fulbright. He visited our home. learned so much from both of them.
