The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a twenty-six-year-old who learns that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, has been killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang. After being pushed off a subway platform, Takemichi finds himself transported twelve years into the past, to when he was in Middle School. Determined to save Hinita and change the future, Takemichi decides to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and rise through the ranks.
