Hello! Up for sale is a First Edition Fifth Printing Hardcover of the landmark novel THE COLOR PURPLE by Alice Walker. This book won the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and was adapted into films in 1985 by Steven Spielberg starring Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey and again in 2023 starring Fantasia Barrino, Taraji Henson and Danielle Brooks. The copyright page states a letter of “E”, indicating a Fifth printing. The Book is in Good condition with only light wear. The spine is fairly and there is a slight lean, with a mild crease at the spine. There is some spotting/foxing to the page edges and a prior owner wrote their name on the front endleaf. The dustjacket is in Good condition with light wear to the edges, including some faint creases, tears and chips. The jacket has been placed in a protective cover to prevent further damage.
