As a member of the tribe of Native Americans called the Lumbee (whose home is on the banks of the Lumbee River in RobesonCounty, North Carolina), Delano Cummings has much to tell about his people and the land of the Lumbee. In this work, Cummings combines his Indian heritage, his experiences as a Marine in Vietnam, and his dreams to weave images of the past, the present, and the future into a thoughtful, spiritual, and exciting narrative of Native American life and lore.
