This is one of the few catalogs available on the subject of regional Chinese furniture as distinct from hardwood Classical Chinese Furniture. Much of this provincial and rustic furniture was exported to the U.S. in the late 20th century, but there are few reference books available to collectors. Many ancient styles of Chinese furniture dating as far back as the Han dynasty persisted in these regional styles until very recent times.
