The book starts off in Scotland, the home country of main character, Shannon McClain and her best friend, Colleen. Shannon is struggling to get by after the death of her husband. She learns that she's inherited an estate from her grandmother which she's never met. She must travel to Oregon to receive the inheritance. When frightening messages begin to arrive, Shannon realizes someone doesn't want her to get what she deserves. Kozar is great at characterization. And her amazing descriptions of the Oregon countryside will make the reader hunger to visit the area. Source: Goodreads.
