Virginia Cleo Andrews was born in Virginia in 1923 where she studied Art. She lived a short life, dying of breast cancer at the age of 45 in 1986. Best known for classic, Flowers in the attic, her worked combined Gothic horror with family secrets and forbidden love. After Andrew's death, her estate hired ghost writer Andrew Neiderman to continue to write novels under her name.
