Stanley Appelbaum (1917-2004) was an American editor and publisher of books in many genres, including literature, drama, poetry, and music. He was the founder of Dover Publications, a publisher of affordable reprints of classic works. He edited over 1,000 books during his career, including anthologies of works by William Shakespeare, Mark Twain, and Walt Whitman.
