Sonny Barger

Sonny Barger was an American author, actor, and outlaw biker, best known for his role as a founding member of the Oakland chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. Born on October 8, 1938, in Modesto, California, his full name was Ralph Hubert Barger, Jr., though he was widely known by his nickname, Sonny. Barger was a countercultural icon and a figure synonymous with the biker lifestyle, often depicted in media and popular culture. He penned several books, including his autobiography "Hell's Angel: The Life and Times of Sonny Barger and the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club," which provided a personal perspective on his life and the biker subculture. Sonny Barger's influence extended beyond his club activities, and he became a speaker and commentator on biker rights and laws affecting motorcycle clubs. He passed away on June 29, 2022.
