P. Craig Russell

P. Craig Russell is an American comic book writer, artist, and illustrator known for his unique style and meticulous craftsmanship in the field of graphic storytelling. Born on October 30, 1951, in Wellsville, Ohio, he made his mark in the comic book industry with his elegant line work, clear storytelling, and adaptations of famous literary works into the comic book medium. Russell has worked on a variety of projects ranging from mainstream superhero tales to more esoteric adaptations, including his collaborations with author Neil Gaiman on "Sandman" and the graphic novel adaptations of Gaiman's "Coraline" and "The Graveyard Book." He is also noted for his opera adaptations in comics, including "The Magic Flute" and "Parsifital." His work has earned him numerous awards, including Eisners and Harveys, cementing his reputation as a master of the form.
