Merlin R. Carothers (1924–2013) was an American author and Methodist minister best known for his books on the theme of praising God in all circumstances. A former army chaplain, Carothers wrote several spiritual works, but his most famous book is "Prison to Praise", which outlines his philosophy that praise should be an integral part of a Christian's life, regardless of the situation they find themselves in. His teachings and writings were particularly influential in the Charismatic movement. Through his non-profit organization, Foundation of Praise, he sought to spread his message of praise and thanksgiving to a global audience.
