Mary Catherine Gebhard is an American writer and educator. She is best known for her work in the field of children's literature, including the award-winning books A Year of Days and The Magic of Ordinary Things. She is also the author of several books for adults, including the memoirs My Father's Garden and The House of Memory. Gebhard holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
