Martha W. Hickman is an American author of fiction and non-fiction books for children and young adults. She is best known for her books about family and friendship, as well as her historical fiction and biographies. Her works have won numerous awards, including the ALA Notable Book Award, the IRA/CBC Children's Choice Award, the Christopher Award, and the Golden Kite Award.
