Kim Gordon

Kim Gordon is an American musician, singer, songwriter, visual artist, and actress, best known as the bassist, guitarist, and vocalist of the influential alternative rock band Sonic Youth, which she co-founded with Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo in 1981. Aside from her music career, Gordon has also been involved in fashion, acting, and has exhibited her art in galleries around the world. Her work spans a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, video, and installation art. Born on April 28, 1953, Gordon has also made significant contributions to the feminist art movement. In 2015, she published a memoir titled "Girl in a Band," which chronicles her life, career, and the rise of Sonic Youth in the context of the New York music scene.
