Kaveh Akbar

Kaveh Akbar is an Iranian-American poet and scholar. Born in Tehran, Iran, in 1989, he moved with his family to the United States as a child. Akbar's poetry is known for its exploration of addiction, spirituality, and cultural heritage. His work is characterized by its emotional depth and lyrical beauty. He has received significant acclaim for his collections, including "Calling a Wolf a Wolf," which delves into personal experiences with addiction and recovery, and "Pilgrim Bell," which continues his exploration of spiritual yearning and moral questioning. In addition to his own writing, Akbar is a dedicated advocate for the work of other poets. He founded and edits Divedapper, a website that features interviews with poets, and contributes to the poetry community through teaching and literary scholarship.
