Kate Wilhelm (1928-2018) was an American science fiction and mystery author. She wrote over 30 novels and more than 100 short stories, and received multiple awards for her work, including the Nebula Award and the Hugo Award. She was known for her strong female characters and her exploration of philosophical and ethical themes.
