Heinz Insu Fenkl

Heinz Insu Fenkl is an author, editor, translator, and professor with a focus on Korean literature and folklore, as well as on writing related to fantasy and magical realism. He was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States as a child, an experience that influences much of his work. Fenkl's most well-known book is "Memories of My Ghost Brother," an autobiographical novel that deals with the complexities of identity, cultural dislocation, and the experiences of mixed-race individuals. In addition to his creative work, Fenkl is an associate professor at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where he teaches writing and literature. He is also involved in the translation of Korean texts into English, contributing to the cross-cultural exchange and understanding of Korean narratives and literary traditions.
