Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849–1924) was an English-American playwright and author. She is best known for her children's stories, including Little Lord Fauntleroy (1886), A Little Princess (1905) and The Secret Garden (1911). Her adult novels, like That Lass o' Lowrie's (1877) and The Shuttle (1907), were also popular.
