Colette (1873-1954) was a French novelist and performer. She is best known for her semi-autobiographical novels, which explore themes of gender and identity. Her works include the Claudine and Cheri series, as well as the iconic Gigi. She was also a pioneering woman in the theater, writing and performing in her own plays.
