Charles Berlitz (November 20, 1914 – December 18, 2003) was an American linguist, language teacher, and author. He is a member of the Berlitz family associated with the Berlitz language schools. He became widely known for his books on anomalous phenomena, such as the Bermuda Triangle and the Philadelphia Experiment, amid other paranormal and unexplained topics. Although he was educated in linguistics and had a strong foundation in teaching languages, his popular works often delved into the speculative and fringe aspects of archaeology, linguistics, and history, contributing to his reputation as a writer on the paranormal and unexplained mysteries of the world.
