Bill Amend is an American cartoonist, best known for his comic strip FoxTrot. He was born in 1962 and graduated from Amherst College in 1984. He began his career as a computer programmer before transitioning to cartooning full-time in 1988. Amend has won the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year in 2002 and 2006.
