Allen C. Guelzo is an American historian and the Henry R. Luce Professor of the Civil War Era at Gettysburg College. He is a noted scholar of the American Civil War era and has written several books on the subject, including Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation: The End of Slavery in America and Fateful Lightning: A New History of the Civil War and Reconstruction.
